Many people have asked me if Well-Bred & Well-Brewed Podcast generates any income to keep me going. And the answer is: no.
Luckily, start-up cost was fairly small. There was the cost of the domain name and web hosting to pay for. Which, weren’t crazy. And I’m used to there being small start-up costs for my ‘projects.’
But just like all my other projects, Well-Bred & Well-Brewed quickly became more work than I anticipated. (Evidence A, this pillow that took me a year to complete. Embroidery is no joke.)
So it’s not the monetary cost, as I said, but rather the time I spend on Well-Bred & Well-Brewed. From start to finish (researching, writing, recording, cutting the episode, & publishing it) each episode takes me about 3 hours to write. (And I do write every episode myself – I’m not copy/paste-ing other websites’ words.)
So Well-Bred & Well-brewed is really a part-time job for me. And when I fall behind on episode (because of other work, travel, life, etc.), I don’t get a day off. Luckily, I really do love doing this. It’s been awesome to be able to share people’s stories – people who have made a difference, but who you might not know – with the world.
And, as a poetry fan and it’s been a blast for me to have to dig through thousands of poems (yes I’ve gone through over a thousand poems) and pull out ones to share.
